Booknerds are Awesome

I love books. They inspire me. They make me laugh and cry at the same time.

Shatter Me is an Awesome Sci-fi and Dystopian Book

Shatter Me - Tahereh Mafi

I absolutely loved this book. For lovers of science-fiction and dystopian. This is the book for you because it has both. Juliette's touch is fatal. The last time she did The Reestablishment locked her up for murder. As long as she doesnt hurt someone else, nobody cares. Diseases are destroying the population, birds don't fly anymore, food is scarce, and the clouds are the wrong color. The Reestablishment says that their way, is the only way. The people are saying that war is coming, and the The Reestablishment changes their mind about Juliette. They want to use her as a weapon. So she has to make a choice whether she wants to be a weapon or fight back. There is also a little bit of romance. I liked all the characters and how they interacted. Also how the author describes the details that helps you visualize the book.

Sci-fi and Dystopian/ Futuristic World. Definitely Read......

Wither (Chemical Garden) - Lauren DeStefano

This is one of my favorite books ever. The plot is amazing i like how it is science-fiction and dystopian and how the story takes different and unexpected twists. I loved the characters and how the story starts coming together little by little. This story has betrayal and suspense and it has a lovely theme.

By age sixteen, Rhine Ellery has four years left to live. She can thank modern science for this genetic time bomb. A botched effort to create a perfect race has left all males with a lifespan of 25 years, and females with a lifespan of 20 years. Geneticists are seeking a miracle antidote to restore the human race, desperate orphans crowd the population, crime and poverty have skyrocketed, and young girls are being kidnapped and sold as polygamous brides to bear more children.

When Rhine is kidnapped and sold as a bride, she vows to do all she can to escape. Her husband, Linden, is hopelessly in love with her, and Rhine can’t bring herself to hate him as much as she’d like to. He opens her to a magical world of wealth and illusion she never thought existed, and it almost makes it possible to ignore the clock ticking away her short life. But Rhine quickly learns that not everything in her new husband’s strange world is what it seems. Her father-in-law, an eccentric doctor bent on finding the antidote, is hoarding corpses in the basement. Her fellow sister wives are to be trusted one day and feared the next, and Rhine is desperate to communicate to her twin brother that she is safe and alive. Will Rhine be able to escape—before her time runs out?.. Booknerds are Awesome....

This is the first book in the series and it ROCKED....

Incarnate - Jodi Meadows

This is the compelling first book of the Newsoul Trilogy by Jodi Meadows. The book is amazing and shows the struggles of Ana the protagonist who believes she has no soul and is despised by everyone. There are also people who are  nice to her like Sam.

NEWSOUL

Ana is new. For thousands of years in Range, a million souls have been reincarnated over and over, keeping their memories and experiences from previous lifetimes. When Ana was born, another soul vanished, and no one knows why.

NOSOUL

Even Ana's own mother thinks she's a nosoul, an omen of worse things to come, and has kept her away from society. To escape her seclusion and learn whether she'll be reincarnated, Ana travels to the city of Heart, but its citizens are afraid of what her presence means. When dragons and sylph attack the city, is Ana to blame?

HEART

Sam believes Ana's new soul is good and worthwhile. When he stands up for her, their relationship blooms. But can he love someone who may live only once, and will Ana's enemies—human and creature alike—let them be together? Ana needs to uncover the mistake that gave her someone else's life, but will her quest threaten the peace of Heart and destroy the promise of reincarnation for all?

I loved Sam’s character and how he didn't treat Ana bad like other people. He is compassionate and does not think that she is a nosoul. I seriously loved this series and hope that the other books are as good.  Booknerds are Awesome........

The Pledge- Dystopia and Science Fiction with an edge of Supernatural

The Pledge - Kimberly Derting

For lovers of Dystopia with a little bit of supernatural this is the story for you. I loved it since i started reading it. It is very cool i would definetly read a book by the author again.

In the violent country of Ludania, the classes are strictly divided by the language they speak. The smallest transgression, like looking a member of a higher class in the eye while they are speaking their native tongue, results in immediate execution. Seventeen-year-old Charlaina has always been able to understand the languages of all classes, and she's spent her life trying to hide her secret. The only place she can really be free is the drug-fueled underground clubs where people go to shake off the oppressive rules of the world they live in. It's there that she meets a beautiful and mysterious boy named Max who speaks a language she's never heard before . . . and her secret is almost exposed.

Charlie is intensely attracted to Max, even though she can't be sure where his real loyalties lie. As the emergency drills give way to real crisis and the violence escalates, it becomes clear that Charlie is the key to something much bigger: her country's only chance for freedom from the terrible power of a deadly regime.

Demons in a book with action. Anybody else think is Awesome!!!

The Demon Trapper's Daughter - Jana Oliver

This book was freaking good. It has supernatural beings but it was really interesting i thing if you like the demons/angels theme you will definitely enjoy this book.

Seventeen-year-old Riley, the only daughter of legendary Demon Trapper, Paul Blackthorne, has always dreamed of following in her father's footsteps. The good news is, with human society seriously disrupted by economic upheaval and Lucifer increasing the number of demons in all major cities, Atlanta’s local Trappers’ Guild needs all the help they can get—even from a girl. When she’s not keeping up with her homework or trying to manage her growing crush on fellow apprentice, Simon, Riley’s out saving distressed citizens from foul-mouthed little devils – Grade One Hellspawn only, of course, per the strict rules of the Guild. Life’s about as normal as can be for the average demon-trapping teen.

But then a Grade Five Geo-Fiend crashes Riley’s routine assignment at a library, jeopardizing her life and her chosen livelihood. And, as if that wasn’t bad enough, sudden tragedy strikes the Trappers’ Guild, spinning Riley down a more dangerous path than she ever could have imagined. As her whole world crashes down around her, who can Riley trust with her heart—and her life?

This book was amazing and i loved the characters. No, Riley was no damsel in distress, yes she needs people, but she can take care of herself and survive. This is a book i really enjoyed i hope you too... Booknerds are awesome.......

How My Summer Went Up in Flames - Jennifer Salvato Doktorski

Rosie is a very impulsive girl. Well, she didn't mean to set her ex boyfriend’s car on fire who cheated on her (by the way). Also her attempts to apologize were considered stalking. So somehow she got a temporary restraining order on the first day of summer vacation. Rosie’ parent send her cross-country road trip with her neighbor Matty who is responsible and his two friends. Although Rosie wants to go back home and win back her ex, as the trip goes on she starts liking it and also another person. Maybe.

I can say that i loved this book so much.I laughed so hard because Rosie is a very funny character. I also loved Mattys character and how he interacted with Rosie. This book is funny and has romance in it. I would totally recommend, it is a great read…. Booknerds are Awesome…..

Glitch is a book that shows an Amazing Dystopian universe...

Glitch - Heather Anastasiu

This book is definitely for Dystopian ans Futuristic Sci-Fi..The protagonist Zoe lives in the Community, a place where there is no more suffering or war. Everybody has an implanted computer chip that erases all destructive and harmful emotions. The thoughts are are replaced by a feed from the link from the Link network. Zoe though, starts to glitch and she starts having her own emotions and thoughts. In her world, anomalies must be reported and repaired immediately. Zoe has a secret though, her glitches gave her telekinetic powers. If caught she will face deactivation. Zoe also meets other glitchers like her along her journey like, Max who can change his appearance, and Adrien who can see the future. They together have to find a way to escape from the community before they are caught or worse.

This story kept me on the edge of my seat with the suspense. Zoe has to find herself and be strong enough to escape. I also liked Adrien’s and Max’s characters who help Zoe along the way. Zoe has some doubts along the way though. It is an amazing story i would recommend people to read it.

It is a trilogy so i will be posting about the other books later.. Booknerds are Awesome…...

A very compelling novel. The Jenna Fox Chronicles..

The Adoration of Jenna Fox - Mary E. Pearson

I think this book is for lovers of science fiction. It is about a 17 year old girl called Jenna Fox who doesn’t remember who she is. She is told by her family that she has just awoken from coma because of an accident that happened a year before. The book is about Jenna’s search for her identity and the truth.

This book really touched me. Jenna is a girl who only wants to know the truth about herself. It is a very compelling story that fascinated me. It is a trilogy so i will be posting the review for the other books later.    Booknerds are Awesome…….

Abandon is an interesting book. With mythology references...

Abandon - Meg Cabot

The book was amazing, i can for sure say i read it like 4 times at least. It is a very modern retelling of the Persephone and Hades myth just with Pierce being Persephone and John being Hades. Pierce died when she was 15 but came back to life, only she knows why. Two years later she moves to Isla Huesos. John is the ruler of the underworld in Isla Huesos a tiny island off the coast of Florida. He is always there to protect her. It has also some action and romance...

I liked the characters alot. It is certainly interesting, also i like that is not an exact copy of the Hades and Persephone myth rather a story with similar characteristics. It does make some references to the myth but not rather the whole story. I would say if you like mythology this book is for you.

Born at Midnight (Shadow Falls)

Born at Midnight - C.C. Hunter

Shadow Falls was one book that left me saying Wow. I think it was mostly because the supernatural genre was present that i thought that it was going to be bad. Boy was i wrong it was amazing, I absolutely loved it. The book is about Kylie a girl who goes to a party with the wrong people and ends up shipped to a camp called Shadow Falls that is supposedly a camp for troubled teens, but after a few hours of arriving she discovers that in shadow falls there are vampire, werewolves, witches, shapeshifters, and fairies. The camp’s purpose is to train the supernatural teenagers to harness their powers, control their magic, and to be able to live in the normal world. They assure Kylie that she is one of them and that she got there for a reason. There is also two guys struggling for Kylie’s heart, Derek that is half-fey and wants to be her boyfriend and Lucas a guy that Kylie has met in the past. There is also her two best friends at camp Della a vampire, and Miranda a witch. As the book goes along Kylie begins to think this is where she belongs.

I laughed a lot in this book and it was mostly because of Kylie's reactions to things. I enjoyed this series as it went along. I will post the review on the other books later…..   Booknerds are Awesome..

Throne of Glass it was amazing..

Throne of Glass - Sarah J. Maas

Celaena Sardothien is an assassin. Even though she is 18 years old she is one of the most feared assassins in the kingdom. When she was caught, she was sent to the salt mines in Endovier but after a year Prince Dorian makes an offer that she cannot refuse, she will gain her freedom but she must be his champion in a competition to find the new royal assassin. Her opponents are assassins, thieves, and warriors from across the whole empire that are sponsored each by a member of the King’s council. If she beats her opponent she will have to serve the kingdom for three years and then she will be granted her freedom. Celaena trains with the captain of the guards Westfall. Also the prince starts showing interest in her. Then one of the contestants turned up dead and then quickly followed by another. She has to figure out who is the killer before she is the victim.

I loved this book. It is amazing and suspenseful. It has a lot of details and i love how celaena is not weak at all and can fight and does not need to be rescued like a damsel in distress. It also has some romance but i thought it was very funny. I would totally recommend this book if you like suspense and action.

Born of Illusion

Born of Illusion - Teri Brown

This was one of the best books that i have read. I enjoyed the characters chemistry. The plot basically follows an illusionist Anna who has the gift to sense people's feelings and foretell the future. She assists her mother who is a renowned medium but her shows and seances are a fake. Anna has to keep her powers a secret from her opportunistic mother. Then she meets a mysterious young man named Cole who moves in downstairs, who introduces Anna to a society that studies people with gifts like her. There was moments when i was like Ahhh. I loved how there was suspense and how it sometimes foreshadowed things that were going to happen but you had to pay attention to the clues. The book was well written i would recommend it to read it.I loved Cole and Anna's personality's.

The Fault in Our Stars

The Fault in Our Stars - John Green

I totally love this book. It was a great book. I will admit i cried but it was well written and it teaches you about life and how you should live it to the fullest and enjoy the time you have with the people around you because you never know what is going to happen. I loved Hazels character and how she wanted to protect people from suffering because of her. I also loved Augustus character the most and how he decided he wanted to fight for his life and tried and tried. Overall i think the book was amazing and all teenagers and adults out there should read it.

Clockwork Princess

Clockwork Princess - Cassandra Clare

In the book Clockwork Princess Tessa and Jem are engaged. Will still loves Tessa but is torn because of his friendship with Jem. Mortmain plans to use his Infernal Devices against the Shadowhunters. To complete his goal though, he needs Tessa. This was absolutely my favorite book in the whole series. I loved the suspense and how you had to pay attention to the tiny detail. I adore the characters, I think that Jem and Will were both great in their own way. It was a breathtaking conclusion to the Infernal Devices trilogy. I loved how Cassandra Clare describes the characters.
